Tournament Format
Tournament: Friday and Saturday, January 13 – 14, 2012.
Weigh-ins: At the Allen Event Center as follows:
- All Rookies and Tots, Friday January 13th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Open Wrestlers, Friday January 14th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
You must make weight in competition singlet.
Wrestling Schedule:
Session 1 – 6:00 p.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m., Friday January 13th.
Begin wrestling for all Rookies and Tots.
Session 2 – 8:00 a.m. to approximately Noon, Saturday January 14th
Completion of Rookie and Tot brackets.
Begin wrestling for Open wrestlers Divisions 1,2,3,4 and 5
Session 3 - 1:00 p.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m., Saturday January 14th
Completion of open brackets.
Begin hard-luck tournament as brackets allow.
Mat Layout: The Open and Rookie Tournaments will be run on 12 mats in the main arena.
No seeding: Tournament Director and Board will separate wrestlers as they see fit.
Brackets: All brackets will be double elimination. Automatic challenge for 2nd in Open Division.
Hard Luck Tournament: “Hard Luck Tournament” for wrestlers that go 0-2 in the Open Division, which will start at the conclusion of the Rookie Tournament on 4 mats until conclusion.
Protests: All protests to be directed to tournament director. All age protests must be made before final match on protested wrestler’s first day of wrestling. Birth certificates must be available if requested by tournament officials.
Medals: Trophies and Medals Awarded for OPEN Division 1st-6th Place & Champions will receive CageFighter shorts. MOW for each Open Division will awarded. Medals Awarded for ROOKIE Division 1st-4th Place only.
